Financial Intermediation

CADFA performs the vital role of bringing together those organisations with surplus funds who want to lend or give to those organisations with a shortage of funds who need funding. Access to the Financial Market has not been easy for the charity sector in Nigeria. CADFA will start its financial intermediation services by providing assistance for charities with financial needs and help them package water-tight applications to conventional financial institutions in Nigeria and beyond. We will also endeavour to start our own bank in Nigeria. We have been in discussion with the Central Bank of Nigeria to start the Charity and Social Investment Bank for Nigeria (CSIBN). Because of the unique nature of this bank, we can understand that the CBN will take time to understand the concept and ensure that it is meant for the purpose we have expressed. Such a bank has been in the United Kingdom since 1982 and it is the right time for Nigeria to have a specialized bank that can meet the needs of the sector.
